In celebration of men!
Led by Ryan Parent
Knitting might seem like a female oriented activity in present time, but it was not always so. Knitting guilds in the 1400’s were exclusively male, and young men had six years of intense training before one could even think of being an official knitter. They then had to complete an entrance exam before they could qualify as a part of the guild, possibly ending up as a master knitter of his country’s royal family. In support of the history of men’s role in this craft.Old Mill Alpacas is happy to offer the first Man Cave Knitting on Saturday the 20th of January. This workshop will introduce you to the basic cast on and cast off, knit and purl stitches, and you will be able to bring a finished neck warmer home.
